  1. Encourage an environment where questions are welcome.
  2. Encourage questions.
  3. Be candid when you answer.
  4. Remember the KISS rule.  Keep It Short and Simple.
  5. Keep your question 10 words or less.
  6. Ask only one question at a time.
  7. Consider the three “RIGHT’s”:  Is it the right time, right way, right person.
  8. Start with an open question to invite information.  i.e. “Tell me about…?” or How…? or What…?
